An analytical model of the functioning of a single object in terms of monitoring the technical condition is given. Three variants of the model are considered: one variant with a constant period between checks and two variants with a random period between checks. A comparison of these options has been made and appropriate conclusions have been made on the influence of the nature of the periodic control and the type of model on the level of reliability of the object.
